How's that for a combination? I love the shape of these little pattypan squash, and their subtle, creamy green color. After trying many different still life set ups, it was clear that a pink palette was perfect for showing them off. So, pink linen, an old Staffordshire plate, and a mix of zinnias provide the complimentary color, while a bunch of parsley and a yellow pitcher lend support to the squash's green-ness.

Debbi, thank you so much! I do enjoy bringing things together for a still life. This combination includes a plate from a great aunt, linen table cloth from a grandmother, pitcher from a surplus/salvage store (about one dollar in price!), and everything else from my garden. I think the fact that I find these groupings fun is my own brand of geekiness.
Well it may be quirky how you come by your elements, but it's really just very expressive of who you are! Don't know if I'd call it geekiness.
